The Real Post Race Post

So its been a week since the race and things are starting to feel normal again. My brother was able to recover his bike. Someone spotted it locked up at the mission and he came down and retrieved it. Hangovers/moral hangovers are gone. With this I will post the winners. Whether or not they like their pictures is to be decided. 1st through 3rd Left to Right Top to Bottom.

1st place: Edward
2nd place: John
Tie for 3rd: John and Brian

It looks like there are going to be some Roller Races coming up this winter (stay tuned for dates and locals) and Halcyon Bikes is tentatively scheduled for opening December 1st.

Things Got Wild...Missing Bike

So the race went off without a hitch...until after the race. 1st place winner Edward took a post race/booze fall that resulted in face wound. Then it was decided that the remainder of the crew was going to find/crash the mysterious Bike Peddler Pub Crawl. For some reason no one that was doing the pub crawl knew anything about it, but we were at least able to find out that it was in East Nashville. Enroute to the Pub Crawl we decided to stop off at the Gallery Hop in the Arcade building. This proved to be more than a small stop and more booze was consumed. By the time we were ready to leave and intercept the pub crawl some of the crew was fairly smashed. One of the guys in from out of town decided he would try to find his way back to Hillsboro Village. He did make it back, but lost his bike in the process and cannot remember where it went. If anyone sees a green fixed gear bike with red deep v's please respond to this post so we can recover the bike. So we ended up at the Rosepepper and found the pub crawl. We were surprised to see that the event had que cards. Seems kind of fishy that no one knew anything about it, but then it was organized enough to have que cards. hmmmm. So we rode from the Rosepepper up to the Family Wash and drank another beer. There were at least two wrecks in this short stretch. Then the que cards told everyone the pub crawl was finished. We were invited to someone's house to drink some more beer with the stipulation that we bring out own. With that we were on our way to the Springwater.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the race. Please excuse me I am going to ride off last nights debauchery.

A little late, Critical Mass??? and Another Race

...on the update but its here. The FM.24.08 was a blast. These guys were serious. It wasn't just an alley cat, it was a legitimate road race. The top teams were not messing around, but some of the others were. It made for a good mix of partying and competition. I do have some photos, but none that great. More pictures here: http://fastermustache.org/node/5744. The course was a 12 mile loop around East Atlanta and into downtown. There were 4 checkpoints aside from the start/finish. The winning teams completed about 40 laps in a 24 hour period. The winning solo riders rode around 30 laps each. Over 50 teams were in the competition. I will definitely be back next year.

So word on the street is that Nashville Critical Mass is back in action meeting the last Friday of every month at 5:30pm in Dragon Park. The next one will be held on the same weekend as the next Alleycat Race which will be held on Saturday November 1st. Details are still being worked out. Costume Contest? Maybe.

...and the winners are...

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the race on Saturday.  Next time we will do something to keep better track of everyone and their times.  For now I will post what I remember.

1st-Adam (from bike peddler)
2nd-Andy (opening used bike shop in November)
3rd&4th-Sun&Ski Sports Guys
5th-Team Skum Life

Since the top 3 finishers declined their prizes Team Skum Life swept the awards.

Right now we are tentatively planning on having a race around Halloween so look out.  In the meantime check fix memphis for their race on the 11th of September.
